>>91177031Homeworld comes in full force. Their ships block out the sun. OG gems are giving up hope, but "NO!", says Steven! We'll always save the day!
Then Homeworld detonates the cluster.
Suddenly everything is in 'space', in the new asteroid field formerly known as Earth. Steven is alone in his bubble. We see townies floating around, suffocating, DYING (as in, we see them cease struggling as they succumb to vacuum exposure. Steven tries to save one or two but they're dropping too quickly and all just out of reach). We see gemstones, including identifiable ones of main characters, poofed, maybe cracked, maybe shattered (we see at least one of the main gems, or maybe Peedles, bounce off his bubble and go spiraling out into the void).
"THE END" title card, end of episode.
A catatonic Steven is startled 'awake' at the start of the next episode by Connies frozen corpse bumping into his bubble, slowly drifting away. He starts crying softly, again, rocking, completely incapable of thought.
Then the cluster starts chattering at him. It's still in the process of forming, still an undulating self-illuminated blob. Homeworld ships are flitting about doing something to it, and it's crying out to Steven for help.
Steven is broken, full of rage and horror, can't think, hates cluster, sees no point, etc., but of course gets over it.
They start to fuse. And then, once the unique Gem/Organic Hybrid known as 'Steven' has entered the megafusion, it just keeps right on fusing. It swells to draw in every bit of biomass, every bit of Gemstone, and wraps itself around the inert matter of Was-Earth for good measure.
The Homeworld ships flee, backing off to a much wider cordon. The Voice of God rings out from The Cluster, shaking their hulls, clattering their teeth, maybe even visibly cracking some of their Gemstones; "THIS IS OURS." They start warping out in a full retreat.
