The way I see it, there are 3 things that must be done.
1. No more townie episodes
2. Develop the story in a way that focuses more on shit actually happening than lore-for now, at least. I don't mean to take a hard stance against the deepest lore, I understand that is what draws a lot of people to the show, and future episodes can focus on lore, but for a while now we have had enough lore development and comparatively little action to back it up.
3. Have some big event on par with Jail Break if not bigger. This is as much to mark the transition to NuSU as much as it is to draw old fans who have given up on filler the series back in. If anyone who used to be a fan on the show gave up on it because of all the disappointment like I did
some big event in the story could make them interested in giving the series another chance.
To fulfill those three objectives at once, I suggest Beach City getting destroyed. Does not necessarily have to be overly dark with every human character graphically dying, but shit has to get bad. Shit has to get real. Homeworld, corrupted gems, and/or forced fusions have to become actual, apparent threats to humanity, not a monster of the week that always allow Steven to goof off and still get resolved with no harm done.>>91540354
This has also got some good ideas, especially 2 and 5
