Definitely got some first original show syndrome, but it also has the benefit of all 4 main characters being likable in their own way, as well as episodes being just as funny on a rerun as they were the first run. Things like Space Ghost didn't have staying power, a reference to an obscure cartoon from the 60s that does interviews with people who were barely relevant 15 years ago had no chance. Sure it was good for a few laughs at first but likely not again during a rerun. And the only part the younger audience got was the old Toonami host popped up now and then.
Then there's stuff like Robot Chicken, every critique I could give for that has already been done by the show or with its commercials. Acknowledging your show sucks doesn't magically make it good. Squidbillies tries to be similar, but the rednecks are stupid and poor gimmick only stays amusing for a few seasons.
