Both Mabel and Lars had major character flaws that seemingly didn't impact their interactions with others to any major degree or even worse was outright glossed over.
Star at the very least has had some positive and negative impacts in this area due to her flaws, which is more relatable. Sometimes being brash and pushy has had positive effects, getting Marco out of his 'Safe Kid' miasma being one of the major ones. Equally so, it has had negative ramifications, such as the initial fight during Storm the Castle where Star was primarily in the wrong, but didn't believe she was given her reckless and prideful nature.
How balanced these positives and negatives are is debatable, they don't have to be a 50/50 split to get some imaginary pass. I'd say, up until now, much of Star's rashness and pushiness have worked in her favor, now we're seeing several major examples of them not working in her favor at all and I would imagine that will be a large plot point moving forward into season 2b.
