Still not super into the scrawny look but she's really charming and has a ton of personality. Plus her accent is vaguely foreign in that way that it could be used well for Diana. I'm curious as to why WB has been hiding her up until now.

Not a Snyder fan at all but the Wonder Woman movie is really starting to look up for me

People who don't read comics projecting their preconceptions onto her.

Not that she's never depicted as muscular, but those depictions are the vast minority. Almost always she's just thin and toned, just like how Gadot looks in the movie.

I'm not that big a fan of the MoS costume but the three actors look great and the other two costumes are better than I could have hoped for. So glad we didn't get more stupid Bat-armor or Wonder Pants.

Only in very small roles. I'm not saying she'll be great, I'm just saying it's stupid to say she won't be when she's never been given a time to shine before and someone likes her enough to hang a franchise on her. We've seen this before with cape movies and it has worked out well.

You have to go with smaller actress / unknowns like her and put your faith in them because no established name wants to sign a multipicture deal and be obligated to sequels and team-ups and sequels for the next decade of their career.

I basically means that these movies are going to take longer to make and have a bigger degree of planing because they've first to consult and discuss with all the current and incoming directors what they want to do to better fit their wishes into the bigger narrative.

For example BvS took longer to make sure what were the plans of the directors handling Suicide Squad, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and so on were in order to finally move on with BvS.

I wasn't using that as an example of how she usually looks, just that she looks fine skinny. Here's a historical example from her official early 80's design used in all her toys and cross-media appearances. She has broader shoulders than Gadot but looking at her actual appearance in the trailers there's not that noticeable a difference.

I'm currently re-reading Perez Woman (considering storytiming it or Rucka's run) and even there she's not THAT much thicker than Gadot, and Perez was where the more muscular Wondie design comes from.

His original design wasn't nearly as muscular as he's been drawn since the 70's, and Cavill isn't even close to that design either.

In the movie Batman is the only one with a huge bulky look, which makes sense since he's the only one of the three that would have any reason to build mass and not just look toned.
