If anybody is reading properly into the Natalie Portman situation (no seriously, go ahead and look into her.) She has a "pulling focus" problem when acting. Beyond "Leon" She's been frequently one-upped on being able to project charisma and her star power has been waning since Phantom Menace.
Nobody ever talks about it, but there seems to be some kind of personal stipulation she has with being billed as second to any other actress in regards to the Thor films. (Read: In proximity to Chris Hemsworth.) Even if it's not something on paper, there must be some arrangement that is going on that posits that Kat/Jamie should reduce themselves when Natalie is present to avoid blinding people to her performance.
To be clear, if I had to act in contrast to motherfucking Liam Neeson and I still got overshadowed by a non-speaking Ray Park, a limited-acting experience child and Jar Jar, I'd feel a bruised ego about it, too, but just saying, Kat seems to be the sort of person to actively make a personal effort to not hang her chest out to dry in the frame so as to avoid comparing her tracts of land to Natalie's apparent lack out of kindness. It's equally likely Jamie Alexander is somewhere chuckling about the whole affair given her entire 2 minutes in Loki was unintentionally superior to ALL of Natalie's entire performance in Thor 1 and 2, slapping included.
It's not as if Kevin cares one whit about breasts or ass taking up frame in the lens, it's just really whether or not other female characters in the film present anything on-screen that might make "Jane Foster" a less important subject by comparison.
