Funny, despite this trying to be the most adventurous season, and having a bunch of episodes to conclude certain character arcs, it doesn't really feel like a lot happened in the show.
A lot certainly happened but it doesn't feel like it did. The FOWL storyline and the whole diary thing feel less like a story arc and more like excuses for adventures which was also something 90s shows did. FOWL isn't even interesting or scary since most of the crew is a bunch of morons.

They will, the characters and settings and the original show are eternally popular. It's just going to take at least until 2040, maybe longer to get another because they don't do it in succession
In the meantime they have other Duck related things they can work on. Darkwing reboot soon, Caballeros if they decide to revive that, Kingdom Hearts show, and further down the line they can play with stuff like Duck Avenger or something wild

I have to say, this really wasn't beneficial to the show. It added nothing that in-house wouldn't have done and just made it mad expensive for the cost. Which took away from the whole adventuring part, which I assure would have made this show a major success if they kept it.

True. But considering how uniformly awful the writing's been, and the failed attempts at raising the stakes, I wouldn't be surprised if it turned out to be true. I think it's because they had no other choice. Obviously they wanted Dewey and Webby together again, but the Duke of Making a Mess gag would only work if Lena accompanied Huey. So Violet, being something of a throwaway character, ended up with Louie. Which, as you said, was the best thing to happen to her, since Louie conniving and impulsive nature is the exact opposite of Violet's stoic approach. They have nothing in common, which made the interactions fresh and fun.

Gyro and Gandra, however, don't have that stark contrast. They're both bitchy, unappreciated and scientifically inclined. I mean, it might be entertaining if they got into a scuffle... but I've got a feeling Gyro is going to be absent again.

Good point. It’s like how Donald ended up being his best when playing off against Beakley early on. That may have been one of the only times we got to see his mischievous side. Sadly, we never got to see that dynamic again.

And not only that, but they will use Donald as a comedian. I think Donald is funny, but he has nothing negative in him and they put all the traits from his previous versions in boys and the only purpose is to be a good father, and that was taken away from him since boys like Scrooge and Della more than him. He became a monotonous character.

Not to mention how they behaved towards Donald’s voice as well as disparaging Tony Anselmo. It is unfortunate that only Daisy and his friends Jose and Panchito (partly both Storcules and Huey) understand him, the others consider him a black sheep.

For me, DT17 is Donald Duck’s worst interpretation. Even MMC13, although it used Donald terribly at first, the writers fixed it and it is very great there as in WWOMM20. The only thing I don't like about Mickey Mouse's madness there.

Does that mean April, May and June Duck will show up there, in Ducktales? Wait, who's going to play April? Or are they other people than Daisy's nieces? Although I find it a little weird to add such characters at the end of the series. It doesn't make sense, although it won't be accepted later.

Ducktales on the other hand, there are people who remember that series, but with the DT reboot it was necessary to bring new dynamics and new mysteries like solving the mystery around Della Duck. When that was resolved in the second season, people stopped losing hope in it and switched to other modern cartoon series.

Besides, Ducktales is a mixture of drama and comedy, which is a bit uncomfortable, because they used ironic humor, and the drama became, ugh... I don't know what to say. They only did well in the first season, even though there were mistakes, but it went downhill in the middle of the second season.

Will people remember that? Only the most loyal fans will, and the others will hardly become obsolete faster than Nu-Animaniacs (after all, that series started broadcasting, while Nu-Ducktales is ending).

That's a good point. This DuckTales brought back the IP on a surface level, but the show was ultimately a retread of Gravity Falls. But even Gravity Falls could only last two seasons.

Whether or not you like the Animaniacs reboot, I think you can't deny that the show was created to match the original. Nora Rita Norita feels like a villain that would fit the universe of the original series.

Meanwhile, I can't think of any OCs in DuckTales that match the spirit of the original. Mark Beaks could have possibly served as a one-time villain but his behavior is so deeply rooted in modern day comedy that even he would have to be reworked to fit in the original Duckverse.

That's not just a Donald problem, they treat Scrooge the same way. In the comics he's just an old man. It makes sense why he'd take Donald and the triplets along - Donald's a tough bastard and the triplets are clever. In DT2017 Scrooge is not only immortal but can still keep up with everyone else in combat and knowledge. Donald doesn't need to come along anymore, which is, I'm assuming, at least part of the reason why he feels so underutilized in the reboot. He'd be useless in adventures. Launchpad is already the pilot/driver/crasher and HDL/Webby are the comic relief, making Donald completely redundant. They really didn't plan this fucking reboot out well enough.

I think they could have found a way to fit Donald and Launchpad into the show. You'd have to give Donald a slightly different role, but he could easily tag along on adventures as being the Lone Sane Man compared to the antics of his greedy uncle and LP's oblivious attitude. In the original DuckTales, I thought the "Three Ducks of Condor" struck a nice balance.

Unfortunately, though, the reboot didn't think ahead that far and thought it out even less in regards to Della. Now they have a character who serves the roles of both LP and Donald. Which leaves the show to find ways to write both of those characters out in the final season.
