>>118170573 pointed out, it's stupid to try to make superheroes look "tacticool," especially when the end result is fucking corsets and high heels.
And
>>118170573 is wrong. As someone who doesn't read comics and has only watched cartoons, I'm probably among the folks who can relate to complete plebs. Most comic suits as they are in the comics and cartoosn don't look good in real life and most people ain't gonna take to capeshit that way unless it's intentionally being satirical. If the story and setting is taking itself seriously and expects the audience to do so as well, having all superheroes/villains running around in spandex that looks tic for tac like their comic counterparts is a surefire way to put people off, and thus generate a box office flop for the studio that produced it. The cunts who did the first X-men movie made the right call in ditching the comic suits for those leather ones (though I think they could've done something better since leather was a poor choice) and the costume designers behind the MCU have produced pretty much the best looking capeshit costumes to date, which lends itself to why it's been so successful. And also shit like Nolanbats. As memed as "tacticool" is and as hated as it is by comic purists, it's highly appealing to everyone else. The rest of us will eat that shit up because grounding that shit is one of the ways that's gonna get us to take it seriously and get us invested.
