>>118034959>What exactly is the end goal of colonizing everywhere other than universal domination?Implied in the series, explained in the artbook.
Gems were a mistake. They don’t know their own origins. Something tore through Homeworld and blew out its core, and out of that the Diamonds emerged alone. Based on what Pink said to Greg they “born with all the knowledge they would need”, but weren’t aware of their powers given most Diamond powers are still being discovered.
They created a religion to explain their own origins, which Peridot was supposed to tell Steven and Lars would discover is largely shit they made up to explain themselves to themselves in cut episodes.
White has the power to control any Gem but Pink, and since Blue and Yellow could control her instead the dominant sister became White so her ideas of things won out.
White assumed that because white light is made up of all colors that all Gems are extensions of herself. So she eradicated any variability like Fusions or Offcolors since it lead to questions about herself, and likewise policed ideas like happiness, anger, and sadness out of herself for fear it would suddenly exist in all Gems everywhere.
White figured her purpose was to expand “herself” everywhere which Blue and Yellow followed because White was the boss, and Pink gave no fucks. Eventually the relationship became toxic as Pink was quickly left with no Court and thus no power, and as Blue and Yellow has pioneered creating colonies they saw Pink as their own early mistakes waiting to happen, while she refused to learn from them. Pink gave no fucks about White’s faith or goals, she wanted a colony to get their respect again. To make them love her again instead of White’s robotic ways.
White was entirely wrong about everything, and forced all Gems to follow it. Because the four Diamonds were basically cavewomen gods who just started naming things and deciding what they thought the explanation and point of things.
