>>117793144>then why hasn't the conversation moved forward with discussing a way to *revive* Pink Diamond, the mother?
1) Nobody really understands what she did. Just like how nobody is addressing Steven’s lifespan, they have to just take things as it comes. It’s also what she chose to do, which we got to see Pearl deal with when she almost killed baby Steven.
2) Meta reason: Rose being gone for good means everyone has to deal with her shit without her. Pearl has to overcome each issue she had by herself, and could only become independent without her. The Diamonds wouldn’t have accepted stepping down to become a powerless monarchy within a democratic federation for Pink. Most important of all, Steven has to grapple with the aftermath and his own emotions instead of just telling her to fix shit, or yelling at her until he feels better. Kind of like how Bismuth clearly has a LOT of emotions tied into the whole thing but accepts Steven without a fight because she realizes she can’t make him a martyr for her anger. >She didn't give herself up for Steven. Steven killed her.
She was aware what would happen. Fan theories range from “two incomplete soul” to “robots cannot create life because [religion stuff]” to “congenital heart issues, would have been stillborn”.
She clearly had a choice though no matter what. To try in the first place, and to let it happen.
That said, she’s clearly still inside him the same way Pearl’s layers of mental selves are in her.
