Even crudely animated things can be that way on purpose in service of the writing and voice work. Aqua Teen and South Park are both crude shows, so it's hilarious when their animation is equally crude and crappy. The simple motion of someone getting hit is funny when it's just a cardboard cut out being slapped against another character.
This is one reason why modern South Park is so fucking unfunny. It's trying too hard to up the production value where it misses its own point of the construction paper look.
