Why does this always happen? Does the money saved on not having to actually animate the picture just go to the massively famous actors' paycheques?

It's really the other way around, where the Chinese studios pay for big stars. It's easy money with undemanding/zero direction, done in a few days or less. These Chinese films are also synced to English, which means the English dialogue is recorded first and the actors aren't fully aware of the quality of the final product, nor do they care.

I suppose this is the thread to ask. Does anyone remember the name of that godawful CGI sci-fi movie that has a main character that looks like Flik from Bugs' Life. There's also a rabbit character and a pig character. The Darth Vader style villain is named General Disdain.
I can't remember the name but the trailer makes me laugh my arse off errytime

I mainly thinking of Mina from Star vs

Mina was born a lowly peasant who was a nobody her Queen saw potential in her and tried her to be a Immortal Warrior hundreds of years later. She now a war veteran with severe PTSD and the government just dumped her on another planet so she would be someone else's problem. then when she get power again the only way she can be defeated is if her commanding officer who trained her to hate monsters with all her might tells her to stand down. when she finally gets to see her commanding officer again who's now a ghost instead of telling her to stop and taking the blame for how she truned out she just looks at her disappointedly as the monster she created gets curb-stomped by a unicorn.
