>>115798544Just started this last night and got about half way through. It's overall... okay? Like there's nothing really spectacular about it, but it's cute and there are good and bad parts.
>budgetWhy is it that the budget is so inconsistently spread? Some shots are just animated on a whole different level. The arena fight is one people post a lot, but some singular shots are just jarringly different from the rest of the series. For example, when Luz is approaching her fake chosen one staff, she does this spin and sway and like there is WAY more care and budget put into that shot for some reason. This inconsistency is every in the show, it's hard to complain about them technically doing better, but it's distracting.
>characterThis show has too many mascot characters, feels like they were just shot gunning and seeing what stuck. Luz, Amity, King, are all pretty well characterized, but Eda just seems to service the scene. Eda literally forgets who Luz is and the very next day they take this flight into the sky to look over the bones and it's supposed to be a tender moment, but it just feels hollow because we know Eda doesn't give a fuck, at least not yet. She's too all over the place. She literally forgets that she hasnt taught Luz spells at all, and loses her for a whole day another time, but we're supposed to believe that she cares about Luz? Eda needs work.
>VoiceReally good from all of the cast aside from maybe Willow. There are specialties to their delivery in each cast member that stand out while still fitting together. Nothing to complain about here at all, other than that sometimes Luz sounds a lot older than she's meant to be, but only sometimes.
>plotThe best thing to be said here is that it's meant to be a kids show. You dont think about how long is a summer vacation for Gravity Falls, or how many weeks a year the Weekenders get, it's just supposed to be generalized as a backdrop. Summer camp usually lasts a week at most, dont think about it though.
