>>114795972It's a lot easier to get strong shapes out of a 2D drawing. While 3D models can easily be squashed and stretched, you have to make sure the CG model doesn't clip into the environment or other characters.
Nostalgia Critics video on it is alright, but he gives the impression that 2D animation is rare to see, even on TV. He never mentions that 2D animation is cheaper than 3D when it comes to TV.
