did Superman get a manga like Batman's 60s manga by Jiro Kuwata ? or was it just American reprints (with a new cover).
I tried googling it but could only find superman fan-art

Ed Piskor (from cartoonist kayfab/ x-men grand design) is on vacation in japan and posted pics of him buying stacks of manga
these are the only pics from superman he posted. Nothing on the inside
so it might just be new covers for american reprints.
can't find anything online really...though not sure what to google besides Superman and manga and that just gives me a bunch of shitty fan art.

I remember there being some Japanese picture books for kids with some decent art in them. I’d have to look for them online or something. I saw those in a thread on this board a few years ago.

its from 1979 (probably from the popularity of the movie)
according to eBay (only place ive seen it) its a hardcover picture book.
if I'm not mistaken the art is by the guy who designed the characters from Battle Fever J (this might be completely wrong)
art inside is nice
So Superman had some level of popularity. not sure if he ever got his own manga like batman and spdierman did

anyway here's another manga superman..looks similar to other covers. too bad DC hates Superman because it would be cool to see a collection of some of the superman in japan stuff like the Batman Manga book (if there is enough material for a superman book)
