At one point, they decide to publish a M.A.S.K. comic. They changed the main character from a blond rich stereotype dude to a black guy for no reason. Now, M.A.S.K. wasn't a crazy popular property, and changing it for no reason didn't help with the few existing fans.
They changed a black G.I.Joe from a muscular dude to a fat samoan chick (or tranny, I forget). Not to mention their "gay pride" month with a variant cover featuring characters the fans always joked about looking gay. They were basically trying to puch that as canon and killed the joke.
Oh yeah, they also killed off Snake Eyes (one of the most popular characters in the franchise) and sort of replaced him with a "Lady Snake Eyes".
They took the "Transformers" name in a completely different direction and started pushing gender identity and even changed a classic G1 character from female into a tranny.
They also pushed the female Ghostbusters from the recent-ish flop into the comics, killing off the hype of a good comic with something no one asked for, but to be fair, apparently that was a demand from Sony.
The list goes on, but you get the picture. The less politics in the comics better, specially something the fans didn't care about to begin with. It would help getting writers (and editors) who cared more about the franchises than about an agenda.
