I don't know what it is, but so many artists make everything super complex and detailed and use incredibly fine lines and 26 levels of shading trying to make everything look realistic or something. I HATE it. That kind of art makes the whole thing look "dirty" or "messy" or "grimey" to me. I immediately lose interest as a result.
QC, on the other hand, looks clean. Thick lines and bright, saturated solid colors. Cartoonish but with enough realism to be relatable.
There's probably terms for these things so forgive me that I don't know them. I've only been on /co/ since this May-Sven happening occurred.
