I have also talked to a dozen people who saw it, and the first thing they did, knowing I'm a marvel fan was get a hold of me, and tell me NOT to see it. That means their tickets count as "ticket sales". They don't pay attention to internet drama on this kind of subject. They are the normies who see that a new MARVEL movie is coming out. They liked the other ones, so they go see this one without another thought.
Even though they were insulted by the movie, and one of them even walked out half way through, they still COUNT as a success right?!
Movies are NOT measured by success of opening weekend for this reason. That does NOT speak of the movies quality. You can scam the normies into seeing degradation propaganda once. They won't buy another ticket to see it again, and they won't purchase the movie later.
The measure of success and weather the audience liked it is: total after month of release AFTER initial weekend.
You could also add weather they turn up to see a direct sequel.
Another example are the STAR WARS sequel disasters. At first people DID show up. They didn't have any more info to go on other than the START WARS logo.
This time it's the trusted MARVEL brand.
The normies didn't even have access to the information from sites like Rotten Tomatoes because Disney's been going out of it's way to silence any mainstream critism of the movie.
See how many people see it twice and buy their own copy.
