That's what happens when everything in your franchise revolves around nebulous concepts and obscure character motivations.

Outside of wanting to leave Destiny Island and wanting to save worlds from being overrun by darkness, I don't think anyone in Kingdom Hearts has realistic motivations. Everyone just keeps talking until their words make some sort of abstract sense.

I'm telling you, someone from Disney called up the Kingdom Hearts guys and asked if there was any way they could fit Star Wars into there. With as hard as they're pushing it this almost for sure happened. And at the time of the deal they were already way into development so it probably wasn't feasible for them to make a whole world for it.

In any case, I hope KH3's difficulty will be good, with all those flashy moves they keep showing off it almost feels like the game's playing itself and you're just winning by pulling out every trick in the book (Shotlock, that Disney attraction thing, turning your Keyblade into a gun or some shit, etc)

It's not a complete shit show, but the plot feels way to muddled to care or remember. Honestly with this type of game they should have wrapped up Sora and Friends' story without having them tied to the big picture with the first one and have the second one be about someone else slowly building up the deeper lore with each entry rather than just vomiting it up with the last couple of hours. New characters, new dynamics, and then it would be even better to have the old worlds in this one because the characters from the Disney movies would bounce off the new characters differently.

Plus Haley Joel sounds awful in this one.

I hate that most of the cast of characters are clones of one another. Even minuscule disposable characters who aren't important have their own clones (Data versions of the Twilight Town Gang). I think the only clone I've actually liked is Data Sora and that's because he's the only character in this series that has been told the story of Kingdom Hearts and directly says he doesn't understand it.

My point is gaming developers should have actually waited until videogame consoles could actually do realism. What we're left with is uncanny valley fests. This. Disney has strict rules where their movie characters cannot talk to each other. Stuff like the Hercules/Aladdin crossover is a hell of a rarity. And don't say Wreck It Ralph has the Disney Princesses in the same area. Notice how they don't look like their original Disney Film selves? These are the Disney Princess Brand versions, which explains why Rapunzel looks pale as fuck and lacks her melanin in her skin.

Trust me when I say this, being from a popular game series means NOTHING. It still takes like a year to get models. Final Fantasy 15 for example is a top tier globally popular game and do you know how long it took for the models to finally start becoming accessible in SFM, MMD, etc? 2 years after release. So when it come to models from Kingdom Hearts do not hold your breath. To this day we still don't have the Crash Bandicoot Remake Trilogy models and that game is out on ALL platforms.

I swear that stupid mobile game has done so much damage. Nomura still hasn't learned his lesson about scattering the story to random platforms. Just when you thought every single thing was finally accessible.....Nomura screws it up. He should consider himself lucky because I've seen gaming series die out for less than this. He's lucky that Kingdom Hearts' fans are somehow loyal enough to keep track of this story across different gaming devices. You have nothing to worry about, Square Enix is both attentive to detail AND constantly even in previous games gave Disney characters their secondary outfits when applicable. It was a Marvel property. And Marvel initially was involved in collaborating with Disney Animation. But allegedly there were major disagreements and Marvel refused to support the direction it was going in. It was agreed to let Disney take control of BH6 instead, and that's why you haven't seen BH6 from Marvel in a long time (anytime you see BH6 it's usually in association with Disney characters, despite using the Marvel logo).

It's existed longer then that in comics, but ever since the 90s, Roy E Disney put the kibosh on big crossovers and Disney's mostly respected his wishes since then. That's why the Disney Princess merch line for the most part never has them interact or even look at each other.

The only crossovers allowed have to follow an arbitrary series of rules, one of which being that it has to take place in a neutral space: i.e. Toon Town, the House of Mouse, the Disney website in Ralph 2. Within the context of Kingdom Hearts, this is the purpose of original worlds like Hollow Bastion and Traverse Town in the first game.

The reason the World Order rule exists in Kingdom Hearts is specifically because of these crossover guidelines and why only the Mickey crew can interact with other Disney worlds.

Randall is looking excellent, straight out of the movie itself. You know, looking at Randall's model here, anyone else feel disappointed by Spyro's model in the Spyro Reignited remake? On that note, Xion is a garbage character who I hope is never saved. Quite frankly I hate all the clone characters this series has. I like my characters to be unique and defined by their designs and backgrounds. Knowing that so many characters simply come from Sora, Xehanort, Riku, and Kairi just infuriates me. Doesn't help that the Foretellers look like past lives of Sora, Kairi, Aqua, etc.

It's a bit weird, yeah she is Sora, but the part of Sora that remembers Kairi and thus Roxas sees her as Kairi, and she herself also does and down the road she aquired self-awareness so she's not really Sora anymore.
