Its more then that, i feel the show was cut way too short, i still hate roadside attraction, i feel bitter about taking away the twins from gravity falls and about how its been 2 years without anymore episodes. The comic may be good but it doesnt heal it still.

I guess i feel personally offended the show ended when it did and the way it did, and how it was one of the few good shows on and had they made more seasons it could still be on even when everything else out now is on constant hiatuses, is complete garbage, or both.

If you listened to the commentary you would know that Alex’s co creative director bailed after season 1. Many of the best storyboard artists and creative assets were planning on leaving after season 2 because of the workload as well. Had it stuck around for a third season it probably would have been in worse quality than season 2B was and I doubt you would want a whole season of that.

You should be happy for what you got. Not what he seems was probably one of the best episode out of almost any cartoon I can think of. You could have lived in a time where you didn’t get to experience the show at all. I know you have a right to complain but I’m just tired of so many gravity falls threads that are nothing but bitterness. Replacing his lead artists with new people after two seasons would have been a disaster. He wouldn’t know how well they would work together or bounce ideas off one another, let alone if they could grasp the feel of the show. I think the storyboard artists for the final sequence in Not What he Seems who also did the zombie fight scene in Skary-oke had promised to leave after season two. That’s not going to be replaceable.

This and the deleted scenes have been an absolute treat. I've found myself actually preferring the deleted intros for Into The Bunker and Scary-oke over the finished product. Alex and his crew had some really great ideas in there.

Yeah, I would have rather had season 2 end on NWHS even if it meant a super long hiatus afterward while Alex got things situated, but it is what it is. At this point, all we can do is cross our fingers for more comics or a possible sequel/miniseries/movie.

I don’t think the show was perfect by any means. I could write a long list of my issues with it and how it could have been better. I think roadside attraction was an awful episode and that weirdmageddon majorly dropped the ball. But being upset about it two years later and acting like he killed your parents is fucking stupid.

I’m trying to be polite but if a cartoon show having bad writing towards the end of it’s run is what counts as ruining your life you have to get some real problems.

The twins joining their Grunks to explore the arctic would make for the best sequel. Problem is the show would lose a lot of the waifufags like the ones for Wendy and Pacifica as well as the chubby chasers.

I miss the show too and thought that the ending could have been better handled, but getting this buttmad at Alex after all the effort he put into making this show, even going so far as to voice about one-fourth of the main cast himself, is a little excessive. Obviously, the guy loved what he was doing, he wouldn't still be giving us more content in the form of journal 3 and the comic otherwise, but if trying to helm the show got to be too much for him, then that's just the way it is. Be grateful that we got as good of a show as we did. Even with its flaws, I have yet to watch a cartoon that can really compete.

Sounds good to me. So introduce new wifu's it is then. We've already got Mermando, so introducing another mermaid would be redundant. You know, even though Crampelter is the only named bully we see in AToTS, I think he might have only been a drop in the bucket. The comic story kind of gives the impression that just about everyone bullied the Stans. I guess this is might have been what Stanley meant when he said that the two of them never really had any friends outside of each other.

there's nothing wrong with being disappointed by the finale, but having such an emotional response after all these years, and even denying yourself to watch a show you used to enjoy, doesn't seem healthy.
Would it help to talk about it? What did Gravity Falls mean to you in the past?

Hey, it's ok to be miffed if you feel the series ended too soon, or that season 2b was not as good as it should have been. It's okay to feel sad that something you loved is over. I was actually expecting a confrontation between the two towards the end of Dipper and Mabel vs the Future when she's fleeing the shack. Maybe even Mable saying something hurtful to Ford about regretting not pressing the button in that emotionally high strung moment. It would have been interesting to see how Ford would react to such a volatile reaction from someone who wasn't Stanley, and maybe confront his own feelings about unintentionally hurting his niece this badly.

I never thought there was any chance Dipper (or Ford or Mabel, when those theories came out) might go evil. But I remember when someone posted an interview here where Alex said it was ridiculous to think that a character the audience liked (Dipper) might turn evil. A:tlA had Zuko and now Tangled: the Series has Varian as characters who can be antagonistic, but the audience still loves them. Yes Zuko moved from villain to hero which is different, but he also backslid in Season 2 and was forgiven. It was sort of a reminder that for the most part Dipper and Mabel had pretty simple characterizations, while the Stans were allowed to be more complicated and messy.

How would you write Ford as the final antagonist though? Would he have some grand scheme he was enacting and be the driving force behind the finale, or would he just be reacting to big events, but do so in a way that was deemed extreme and unnecessary by the rest of the cast? I never hated or loved the show. I always thought it was somewhat uneven. At its worst it was below average, at best it was pretty good. It obviously could have used a third season. It wouldn't have even needed to be a full 20 episode season. A truncated 10 episode season would have been enough.

But I still thought "2b" was acceptable, if noticeably flawed.

Highly doubt she's meant to be but it is kind of fun to headcanon that Anti-Mabel is Reverse Mabel in disguise as a normal Mabel (Gideon's outfit would be a too-obvious tip-off that she's evil, though Reverse Mabel usually seems too smart to wear an "I Hate Cats" shirt, but maybe she was absent-minded thinking no one would see her undershirt that morning).

Someone had a fun idea for an AU in a recent thread, where Wendy makes Dipper and Mabel(and possibly some of the other kid characters) join in on the Apocalypse Survival training her family does(possibly because she has a premonition of Weirdmageddon)

I admit that I think retroactive reincarnation seems a bit out there for a children's cartoon show and also that it would be kind of shitty to make Stan just Bill redeeming himself instead of Stan, an imperfect man, as his own character sacrificing himself for his family. But sure it could always be true. I always assumed Alex just threw the backwards message in there so the crazed Bill fans would have that thread to pull on and he otherwise would have killed Bill outright. As far as the show is concerned the only real link is they're two con men, but if they ever went there I could see Bill still being trapped in Stan's mind.

The social climate there is pure leftist driven McCarthyism. Once someone is deemed “problematic” in their eyes, they are fair game for anything. They’ll dig up something about the person, it could be so minor or something they did as a teenager, and now they have an excuse to torment them as well. I fucking loved the clones and how they played off each other, it was really sweet and comfy. Tyrone's death was really fucking sad because even though he wasn't much of his own character I still liked him based on how he existed situationally.

Seeing those two in the woods for an episode would've made me happy as shit. It won't be the same in comic form.

I've seen Pinecest fics where Dipper and Mabel are like 15 or even 14, but they're never depicted as being younger than high school aged. It is weird, to ship two characters together and then tacitly admit that they would never actually hook up the way they are now.
