>>102194726>Jetpack Viking was never meant to be immortal or have slow aging though. He starts his hero career in the 90s and then by the 2010s he has all that battle experience. It's probably just me then, but I saw him as the Thor of the Justice Comrades, so I wanted him to be older, wiser, more experienced. It's probably the beard that makes me think he is older.
>>102194984>Jetpack Viking's real name is Val Yeager, no he's not GermanThought it was Hal, not Val.
I wanted to make him born somewhere in Britain, not yet decided where exactly. Leaning on the isle of Mann or Scotland (his outfit looks like it has a kilt in it...).
>in the previous iteration of creation or however that works >Skathi being the sole survivor being flung across space and time before landing on EarthYeah, that already sounds ambiguous enough that you could dance around it.
But the thing with Ragnarok is that it is cyclical, and the entire world dies and reborns. So there could have been many Ragnaroks before and many to still happen.

If Skathi has been flung across space and time, maybe she arrived before Ragnarok happened. Or a long time after it happened.

Just because the Norse pantheon is gone doesn't mean that all Valkyries are gone. They still take people to the afterlife, that's their job. Valhalla, Heaven, etc., could all be the same thing just named differently. Jetpack Valkyrie got her job back when the norse pantheon existed and has done her duty ever since, as the afterlife was still there, and people still had to be taken there. Same job, different bosses.
This is my preferred version.

She's not a real Valkyrie, but one of the angels who escorts the dead to the afterlife. But she takes the form of the persons beliefs, so for a viking she'd look like a Valkyrie. I don't like this one though, there's too much "your belief forms your shape" going on with that artefact too.
That's just 4 possible explanations from the top of my head.
