it's a much needed Donald episode. That alone is enough to at least get me interested. It probably won't be as good as Legend of the Three, but new Ducktales has shown that it CAN be good. I don't even think it's really all that bad as a whole honestly, it's just a near constant waste of potential.

If this was the three calleberos, this gag would probably be he traded his guns for the phones so the triplets could have something for their birthday

there'd be a breif cut to that really rich bird guy - the nuducktales one i forget his name - not knowing how to use the guns and trying to take a selfie with it, he'd end up causing Panchito's old gun gag of "the bullet just richochets around the room wildly"

there'd then be a cut back to Panchito assuring everyone he didn't get ripped off because there's a third phone under his hat, it's a pretty good deal considering

They talked about a cameo before apparently but publicly stated that was shelved. That it appears a month after the leak with this grey background and they are hyping this up makes me believe they quickly put them back in. Really doubt they worked on the episode yet

The most bitter people are the ones that read the comics. They are angry because the show isn't like the comics and takes well established things to shit on them

The show is cynical, and meant to be ironic. If anything, the nephews wouldn't understand Scrooge because of his Scottish accent and years apart, but three nephews have literally spent their entire lives with Donald and Scrooge is Donald's adventure partner. The show only did that in the trailer to get a quick joke.

I doubt he cares. Three Caballeros was a movie, and he only adapted them for a comic twice, which the show does not use as source material at all.

Personally I would've preferred the LoTC to be more like Rosa's comics but what we got was interesting.

The entire show is nothing but lip service to the Barks/Rosa comics, only barely at best adhering to them but with absolutely none of the charm. Lo3C chose to use the comics as an inspiration but do its own unique thing, and it came off much better for it.

The Caballeros weren't really the types of characters to get into actiony battles prior to LotTC, but suddenly Ducktales has them fighting monsters... What if they integrated LotTC into the Ducktales 2017 backstory/canon? What if the Cabs became so popular on Ducktales that Disney decided to give them a proper chance and renew their show for a few more seasons? Maybe this could end up being a very good thing.

Why does everyone shit on Donald?

I know technically in the Three Caballeros movie Donald was the odd-one-out in terms of ability (failing to fly, playing the wrong instruments, falling over when leaning back, etc) but he was still respected (Jose and Panchito happy to see him, kissing him, having fun with him, etc)

Please tell me Jose and Panchito will be kind to Donald and show that Donald is more than a joke

I just want them to leave it out of their shows. It’s ok if they rant on twitter or on a podcast. Don’t do it with plushies kid the characters in front of a banner for the show. That’s associating your show with a political argument that may not align with a large portion of your viewers, essentially alienating your audience. Especially when you generalize it this much to the point that the issue doesn’t seem to have a valid opposition.
An audience is not a right, it’s a privilege and they should respect all viewers by leaving this crap out of it. Entertainment is what brings us together as people. We all love the same shows and the same music. We can go back to hating each other’s once it’s over, but doing this shit basically makes it so the show itself has taken a side, even it should remain neutral.

That’s what makes things like Wizard of Oz, one of the most blatant political allegories of all time, such big cultural successes. Sometimes it’s actually more expensive to air something you think will be a bomb rather than just never showing it. Though this example wouldn’t make sense because even excluding the universal icon status of Donald Duck, the Three Caballeros was a very successful film, the song has been a staple of the Disney repertoire for decades, and the three of them are pretty more recognizable today than a lot of characters from the same era. So? It was Jose and Panchito's humble beginnings as well. If they were only meant to be used as propaganda, we wouldn't see them in anything else. Many Disney characters were used in propaganda films. People saw T3C as a heartwarming tale of 3 best friends and that was what made the franchise what it is known for being today; 3 best friends who love each other no matter what.

On the subject of the 3C, just ask him pertinent questions about his body of work with the Three Caballeros. There's no point in asking him if he knows about the show and the DuckTales appearance and whether or not he likes them, he probably doesn't care considering who he is. Just ask if he likes the 3C, the surge of 3C's popularity, and the people's love for them throughout the years.
