Recs on studying logic

Good day lads, I want to learn LOGIC from the beginning. I know this is not strictly science but as it is deeply associated with math I figured there'd be no better board to post this so here i am asking for some guidance.

As far as I know logic is considered a branch of philosophy, although it may be strongly associated with math. Heck it might fully be math. As I said i want to start with the beginning as i don't know a thing about it.

Interesting question... I would say philosophy came first in the humanity's history but i think logic is actually something we're born with so i'll go with that

CMU has entire grad courses on logic, and undergrad courses just look on their grad page for the programming language theory group http://www.cs.cmu.edu/~fp/courses/15317-f17/schedule.html

Don't listen to the non-math majors. Logic is a sub-field of math. Recursion theory, proof theory, model theory, set theory, and so on are fields of pure mathematics. People that don't recognize that either go to crap schools or are non-math majors, or aren't past the real analysis/algebra phase of their majors.

I'd recommend Discrete Mathematics Rosen (its downside is its super wordy, takes a long time to get to the point, spends too much upfront time on basic logic, and takes forever to get through and you'll probably never finish actually reading it).

The more reasonable recommendation is "Book of Proof". No idea about how to prove it.
