Otherwise, with hips and knees level the angle between the trunk and the legs at the hips will be 90 degrees, and this will tend to pull your pelvis to posterior rotation, reducing the lumbar curve, causing you to slump, and increasing pressure on your lumbar discs.
>How to sit while eating?If you have to sit upright and don't have a seat wedge eg at a dining table, you will struggle unless you have good flexibility in your hamstrings. I'm going to make a big assumption, that a lot of your problems sitting could be from shortened hamstrings. Can you touch your toes in a standing forward bend with straight knees? If not, work on it.
