Why is science so hated now?

Is it just of popsci shit in newspapers that are usually garbage? The misuse of the concept of "experts", which is usually just one dude some journalist found and decided he was the consensus of all people in his field? Is it people just disliking it because they don't like the conclusions drawn from certain aspects of it? Or is it the way social sciences larp as science and keep getting treated as if they're objective?

I feel like the problem with science has so far been more of a problem with the media than it is with science itself.
