So, a few years ago, we were in the middle of the AI hype. Everything and everyone was turning towards it, and it was supposed to do all sorts of crazy things and replace tons of jobs: truck drivers, cashiers, translators, and even programmers.

I remember still hearing about AI a lot in 2019, but I realized today I hadn't heard much about it in 2020. What happened? Is the hype dying? Did we reach some kind of inherent limit to what machine learning can do? Am I just not looking? Is it because of covid?
