Not true. It there were only geniuses in the scientific community there would be not enough people, who are intelligent enough to produce it, but not intelligent enough to have come up with it, to produce it for the masses.
And even though I'm not a genius I can get a comfy job, because the path since birth to death has already been paved by people before me, and live comfortably. That is an end goal for everyone when our progress slows down. People who can't hasten the progress get to enjoy the partial utopia already.
Also you don't have to be a genius to make the lives of people more stupid than you easier, where they cannot. It's better to use your slightly above average intelligence as much as you can, for your own and everybody else's sakes
