Is it possible to create new air by mixing the base ingredient gases?

I tried asking about this on /b/ and everyone got really mad and called me nasty names for some reason. Sorry if my post offends you too.

Yes but not practical. Air took millions of years of dissolution amongst its constituent ingredients to form that fresh, real, Air (tm) flavor. You would have to age it just as long to get the right flavor profile.

scuba divers often use different ratio of O2 and N2 (nitrox for exemple)

Yes and that would actually be really helpful in the future as most oxygen in the universe is trapped in rock, for ex the moon is over 60% O2 by weight. The problem with your idea is more the nitrogen as you tend not to find it in "fixed" or solid form in rock much. Your best bet there would be conversion of ammonia from comets or something. But yeah we reblend gasses all the time for diving and space use. You can even try this one yourself, get some nitrogen (buy liquid nitrogen, or if you're hard core burn some ammonia and scrub the water out) and use some peroxide to make oxygen by reacting it with silver or manganese Dioxide in a Kipps apparatus or something. Bubble it into an upside down beaker and add 200ml of O2, then add 800ml of N2 into the beaker and voila you made air.

Yes. Perhaps not the exact mixture of air as the ratios of each gas that makes up air isn't exact everywhere on Earth, but it will be breathable.
