What steps can I take to develop a concrete and consistent, albeit abstract sounding and even amorphous, strategy for investing in financial markets from a bottom up perspective? This is in reference to the investment philosophies of George Soros, who employs reflexivity, and Jim Simons, who has a much more technical approach. I want to develop something like Soros. This is finance and my question falls under the field of financial mathematics, however, I want more philosophical references as well. I come to this board because I am an engineer myself and I have an investment tactic, but I'd like a more formalized method. Any thoughts or advice?
