So I spent a few months trying to learn math and it's hard because in high school we didn't really learn much and I hated doing 60 problems a night all the same nut at least it was learn then apply. I was trying to learn about shit like groups and rings and shit waiting for whatever point would come when I had to apply. I'm not dumb I swear but concepts are tied to application in my head.

I then spent a few months learning CS and there are tons of mathematical concepts that are actually used. But now I'm even more confused. What are mathematicians even doing? Is there anyone with a dissenting opinion on what math should be? I succeeded in taking away practically nothing from my months of study and if I were a retard that wouldn't matter but now I'm starting to think math may actually be stupid like so many people assert
