Energy, heat, and the diminishing benefit of increasing population

So I've read this and that and it's starting to kinda bug me that so many people want some kind of unlimited energy. Even without that, it seems like the eventual drive of humanity is to provide every last human with electric power and appliances to use it.

It seems to me that even little LEDs generate heat, and that motors generate heat, and that friggin heaters make heat. Wouldn't the heat generated by appliances eventually become more of a problem than the problems those appliances are solving? Like, the biggest problem ever? Just sayin, and wondering if anybody else has been thinking about this stuff
