Insects are also not prone to many diseases that could be dangerous to us, because they're not mammals and too far removed from our physiology.
Much easier to produce clean, hygienic mealworms than clean, hygienic beef, pork or chicken. They're also not exposed to pollution like fish.
I have sampled mealworms and grasshoppers.
Both tasted great but grasshoppers are not very appealing. Mealworms however taste great. In between chicken and potato. I would integrate them into my daily diet if they were cheaper. As of now it's a novelty food, more expensive than regular meat.
Someone should open a kebap stand but with mealworms instead of poultry.
It's the meat of the future.
