>>10127033>KITFrom what I heard they think highly of themselves at least. Apparently they got fancy new buildings, but one of the blackboards is inoperable because the architect/designer decided it was a good idea to put a giant metal tube with no functionality right over the blackboard, so it cannot be properly raised. But hey, it's a cool tube.
>BonnHeard good things, some profs I know were there.
>GöttingenI know some guys who worked there, seems to be a pretty chill and nice place to study math. And also to work.
>MunichHas a good rep, extremely expensive rent. Also famous for two professors in the math department that really really hate each other. Recommended if you have money.
Some other cities:
>HannoverIt's math dep has a good reputation, rent is cheap, and the math building is literally a castle. Not sure about the physics department, heard some unfavourable things about their IT management.
>KielI've been there some times for workshops. Nice place, also cheap, near the baltic sea. Nice place, a little boring maybe if you are a normie (except if you are the beach-type kiting guy normie-chad)
>HamburgExpensive, but not as bad as Munich. Both math and physics dep have a good reputation. There is also a lot of collab between math and physics, and there is the Desy. There is a mathematical physics master, but only a few people that apply are accepted.
>LeipzigCheap, great reputation. They have an MPI for math. Math building is nice, cannot say much about physics there. Very clean city, definitely recommended.
>BerlinTrash city. Cheap, but not cheap enough. They have some mathematicians with rep, but generally I would not recommend going there.
>MarburgNot to expensive, good rep, beautiful.
I heard good things about Köln & Bochum, but I've never been there. If you specify what field in math you are interested in I will be able to give you a more specific recommendation.
