How can mathematicians make a comeback?

Is it even possible?

At one time, mathematicians were in high demand. Because they were the only ones who understood math. Now, math is so ubiquitous, it's not such a special skill.

Biologists and chemists are now knowledgeable enough as to never need a mathematician to assist them.

Okay, so what about differential equations? Sure those are difficult enoughto where you need a specialist to solve them. Well, let me introduce you to the physicist who uses them for a living.

Fine, then. Well how about all this theory stuff? This is hard, right? Allow me to introduce you to the computer scientist. Who is an expert in theoretical math in so far as is necessary even for the most advanced CS careers.

So, what do mathematicians have? An esoteric language they can jerk each other off with?

What are we going to do about this?
