rates of diabetes (controling for calorific intake)
muscle density
rates of individualism/collectivism
we have, and they all show correlations resolved at the level of race. It seems to be a useful category to me. Further more people of all races group people of other races into the same number of races, when asked to. Its not just skin deep - its a biological reality.
