Went to ych.commishes and saw 2 ych auctions and some adoptables with a price around $100. Sounds comfy and wanna do the same but would take time to build a solid fanbase from scratch
Do you make ych's or adoptables anon? what's your experience?

Paying for the fucking design of a OC? Jesus christ, is almost evil if you look at it objectively and you know the sort of person who is paying for it and why.

Because is fucking evil, is a few steps bellow from sexually abusing someone with a mental disability, is just more socially acceptable since is money, not sex. You are legitimate taking advantage of some really fucked up people.

I don't know, if you are okay with the idea go for it, but at the same time having to deal with this sort of people and their personal issues and bullshits is always a pain also. They are always this really specific extreme of something that is always annoying.

I don't really get the ych stuff, it's worse than a commission because you can't choose the pose. Adoptables are fun to make but hard to profit off of. If you like drawing furries than you're set. If not, fantasy humans and humanoids are the next best thing. Adoptables seem like a woman thing so cater to females and you're bound to make some sales.

is related to the edit idea, people that just want to look more art of particular characters, but dont care about the way the drawing look more than the character having more art pieces. That's why many people are dedicated to making edits of existing drawings.
an ych is just a cheap way for those guys to get more characters and for the drawfag to make them more fast since they have most of the drawing already done

I've never done them myself but as far as I can tell they're just rough sketches of a pose that could fit any character, and then someone bids on the rough work for their OC or character of choice to be the completed image.
seems like a pretty soulless way to work to me, but I see this kind of work do even better than freelance sometimes, so what do I know.
