I decided to not do any sort of comic project until I am on the same skill level of a decently good Twitter/NG artist or the average good weekly mangaka, not only because I don't feel ready at all but also because I want to be an illustrator too, and the worlds and character designs I want to show need a decent amount of detail to work.

Is anyone else in similar situations regarding making their own projects outside of single illustrations? Are there any mangaka/comic artists who started late but still got top tier at art?
