Is it bad to spend a lot of time staring at your own artwork? Sometimes I spend hours staring at my work in progress and admiring the craftsmanship instead of chipping away at it to get it finished, and I waste a lot of time this way.

After I finish it I expend a lot of time going trough my old stuff. It starts with pride but as time goes on it becomes more me looking at the flaws and wondering why I thought something so bad was good not only a few weeks back. I like the idea, trying to build a path of improvement as you look at your work, i will try to apply to myself when doing my own thing.

When I tried 3d sculpting to learn more about anatomy through Scott eatons course that shit was mesmerizing. I swear to God at least 40% of my time was spent rotating around my figure or study.

Sculpting isn't for me. It's cool as shit but I literally cannot into the technical aspects of it. I needed a 2 hour course just to be able how to use the program because I'm technologically retarded

Unironically a GMI attitude as long as you look for mistakes at the same time. You can just not repeat said mistakes next time, and you’ll improve faster and have more consistent results than even someone who grinds or a person who just copies references. This will also let you draw from imagination well.

hey that's fine man. blender and zbrush has a lot of functionality and if you aren't used to using those kinds of programs, it makes sense that you're having a hard time adjusting. it took me literal YEARS to get comfortable with blenders workflow (and then they threw it all out with the 2.8 release, thanks).

stick with it. 3d sculpting is hugely rewarding and a lot of fun, and i know you can do it.

Whenever i look at my artwork I immediately see an obvious mistake I made and decide to make a completely new image only better. Because I know I can achieve better, because I am better.
