it isnt about out dated or relevant to the time. they are either fitting or not to the art form. if someone makes art with the same intent, spirit, form and subjects as raphael, it would be the only fitting way to depict figures. you can argue if the complete raphael style is relevant or outdated but that is another issue, or if relevance even matters to begin with.
Whereas a modern subject, with modern techniques and process of creation using these poses will appear jarring, even ironic. it will draw to the choice and create a narrative in itself that suggests these poses are out dated.
