stop consuming outside media for the sake of inspiration. if you remove expectation (my art has to be ___), you relieve yourself of the pressure to excel. therein lies the paradox: improvement derives from enjoyment. demanding from yourself a specific result will block your process and serve to discourage you.
goof off for awhile with shitty disposable art supplies. it's liberating, as it frees you from the idea that everything you produce has to be a showstopper. just draw, without any goal or subject in mind, do this every day for a few weeks. you will notice recurring themes begin to surface. pursue and refine them. creativity is not always a leap of insight.
