I have only kept it linear for all of my drawing.
If I have to, I'll change the pressure for individual brushes.
How do you handle your pressure curves?

More like an S shape, so sublte on the left side and aggressive on the right side. You want good control with thin lines, but not to press too hard for getting the maximum line width.

depends on you, your pen and pen-to-pen variability.

You're supposed to be comfortarbly capable of selecting black color and drawing any value with it, very light, middle or black.

Used to be linear but once i got an 8k levels pen i had to shift the peak to half way, so its now a more aggresive linear
