Not really. He’s impressive as a performer/showman but his art itself is not exceptional and he hasnt really done any meaningful work unlike peak Moebius who kept dropping masterpiece after masterpiece and had a big impact on the world of visual development design and illustration

His art is i meant. The video is well made but again: nothing new.
Proficiency at intuitive perspective and repetition is something everyone tells you to begin with. It’s the prerequisite that vilppu and loomis mention.

When AI and machine learning develop to a point where they start making art at a rate that well outpaces and replaces human made art, people will eventually hunger for a live showman who can draw right before their very eyes so they know it is something made by human hand and not machine. In that sense, regardless of what you think of Kim Jung Gi today, the people of tomorrow will see him as a visionary, ahead of his time, and an inspiration to many of the new wave of artists whose main bread and butter will be live performance.

Nah, I might not personally like what he does with his skill, but that doesn't mean the skill isn't crazy impressive. If I had such intuitive understanding of composition, perspective, line, form etc and an extensive memory of a huge amount of subjects, I could draw what I want and not what he draws.

This is the part where a crab comes in to complain about all three of them with more seething. On a side note imo proko is pretty good at breaking things down and explaining, he has a whole league of master studies he did of a shitload of classic painters.
