"Persepective is simple. Sidewalk, building, fence, characters, etc. follow the same line."
"Narrative is told through position of figures. Two characters are facing away divided by sidewalk line with a third between them, looking down from above."
"Small details in figure can also tell narrative and convey emotion. The figure on the left glances back while the figure on the right does not. What could this mean? Although a silhouette, the position of the figure at the top is clear. She is turning away and looking down. What could this forebode? The story is yet more complicated still."
"As with other aspects of the painting, the color is also a striking contrast. The sidewalk divides the building's red light, reenforcing the divides between our characters. But again, it is more complicated. Leaf green, and the dark blue sky at dusk on the left. This imagery also reenforces the narrative of the previous point."
"The horizon line divides the painting vertically, separating the characters once again."
