>>4747944I can’t tell if this is bait or not but if it isn’t, please go spend time with people actually in the industry. This is absolutely normal.
>>4748318>no idea why completely /beg/s are so fucking obsessed with tracingIt started on online art communities from the early 00’s. I remember it super well, you were dragged to hell and back if you were even caught referencing because apparently you had to be able to draw purely from imagination and nothing else. And while obviously tracing or heavily referencing someone else’s art is not ok, I’m talking about people doing it to royalty free stock images (you know, what they’re there for) and having callout journals made and being dogpiled over it.
It has always been a thing that’s stemmed from young online beginners with no professional experience, even I fell for it back in the day and it made me a worse artist because I thought using references was cheating, once I actually got some knowledge and experience in the industry I realised that’s all bullshit and pros have volumes of books on reference material they heavily reference/trace from all the time, the public just don’t see it so they think it’s purely imagination. Most mangaka work this way as well, especially for backgrounds.
