>>4604078Actually, a lot of mangaka have assistants to help them out. Monthly-released manga is a team effort just like American comics are. Their practices are a bit different though as unlike American comics, who divide their labor into pencilers who draw the comic and then pass it on to an inker and colorist, the mangaka will ink their own art, or at least the most important part, and then assistants will do the menial stuff like backgrounds and speech bubbles. At least that's how I remember it.
This is why so many of Jack Kirby's comics looked so shitty, even though he was actually a really good artist that put a lot of detail in his pencils, his work was often inked a by a lazy fucking hack who would pump out as many inked pages as humanly possible.
