>>3768327Yes but hadn’t done it on those two.
This one I did but I ended up messing up a few places cause the chamois isn’t precise enough for detail, and the brush isn’t stiff enough. Maybe I should try a bristle brush. I should use a bristle bright.
I’m starting to see that I gotta be patient and treat drawings like paintings I guess (haven’t really painted yet) and plan it out and do it in stages and take notes if it’s a pre painting sketch.
I keep shilling this drawing but I can’t help it, it’s the best I’ve done so far and I’m kinda proud of it.
That’s kinda embarrassing for some reason.
P.s. this is a good thread to post this info in...
So I’m using Stonehenge aqua hot press watercolor paper for this drawing and it isn’t turning out like I thought.
The paper fuzzes easily and has random grainy spots that are annoying and it cannot stand up to erasing hardly at all.
I went to wet canvas and found a thread where dedicated drawers mentioned a paper called conqueror. It’s made in the UK and I guess it super smooth, super white, super tough, can stand up to erasing a ton, and takes graphite easily making details and darks an easy task.
The guys in the UK use 90lb.
Only one seller in the U.S.
You gotta specify the weight and size and all that, but imma try it out and report back.
Gonna get the Diamond white.
Cx22 surface (smooth)
118c (weight 320gsm)
It’ll be a week or so before I order but I will let you trad chads know what’s up.
I guess all the dedicated UK guys swore by a certain paper ( I forget the name), saying it beat arches, fabriano, all of them!
But then it got discontinued. But the conqueror paper is the equivalent and now some artist uses his website to sell individual sheets to artists in the UK from the bulk orders the factory sells.
So, in other words, it looks to be good stuff.
