>>3691523Don’t kill yourself.
Just take a month on a drawing of a person from life.
As in, have your girlfriend or a friend model for you.
Draw her and get your shapes, perspective, lighting right.
Transfer that onto canvas and then take another month painting that.
Do the underpainting in umber, laying out your shapes with the correct values, wiping off the paint that you don’t need with a rag/ q-tips.
Let that dry then slowly add your skin tones, glazing in multiple layers to get the skin tones exactly right.
Do not rush anything.
All of us will be here 2 months from now.
Come back with a great painting that you can do if you take your time.
I would eagerly await this.
I would have soooooo many lulz watching the real art lovers praise and the crabs out themselves.
It would be an /ic thread to remember.
Painting takes time.
I was reading about Leonardo da Vinci last night and, when he was painting the last supper, the prior of the church would fly into rages because the prior would go to watch Leonardo paint, but there were times, sometimes DAYS, where Leonardo would just stand there staring at the wall or drawing board or easel.
I got so intense one time that the prior went to see the ruling Duke of the area.
The duke went and had a talk with Leonardo.
Leonardo explained that sometimes great men of genius worked in their mind before their hands.
He had completed all the apostles but still had the face of Judas and the face of Jesus to do.
He had to get these two right for the painting to convey the scene properly.
Just take your time.
