>>5222421This may be oldschool, but when making a drawing/painting that is derivative of another, it is customary to write "after [original artist]" above your own signature. It's the old media equivalent of linking back.
Whichever side one chooses to be on the trace/reference debate, this is a basic courtesy to extend to the original artist, as well as protection for yourself. Because once an accusation of art theft is made, it is not isolated to one drawing. The specter of plagiarism casts a pall over your entire body of work.
