>>4342418There's a lot of very objective rules to what humans find appealing. Like-- patterns, certain kinds of shapes, certain ways to achieve simplification and gestalt, etc. Good designers know these rules, and can use them to create visually appealing images or products.
Art and design is visual commumication, so learning art is like learning to write-- you need to learn the rules of language before you can start learning what makes a good story.
That's why I'd strongly recommend getting good at the language of art-- that is, the fundamentals like light, perspective, anatomy, lines, gesture. Those are kind of like the spelling, handwriting, and grammar. THEN, you can move on to learning how to write appealing stories-- that is, learning design.
