We don't really get the sense that Marco matured much doing those years. I don't remember much about that episode or any callbacks, but it seems he just adventured and fought hickabitch, so he's basically a manchild turned back into a teenager. Star doesn't view him as a father figure or a more mature rolemodel and he's usually below her in dominance hierarchies and in no position to take advantage of her, so it's a real stretch to find it creepy.

I forget how old they're supposed to be by now. I'm assuming around 15,which means they're being remarkably innocent and asexual for their age anyway (because kids show, obviously, but the point stands)
